Sheriff to Serve on State Advisory Committee

LINCOLN — Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts announced appointments for numerous boards and commissions on Tuesday. Included in the list of appointments was Polk County Sheriff Dwaine Ladwig of Osceola being appointed to the Racial Profiling Advisory Committee.

St. Anne’s Guild

Christmas potluck lunch will be Thursday, December 1st at 12:30 p.m. at the Shelby Legion Club. Guild members please bring a potluck dish. Guests may be invited. Rolls, dessert and table service are provided. Circle 4, Bev Gillespie and Sue Smith are in charge of the event.

The Shelby Legion Auxiliary will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Shelby Legion Club.

Immunization Clinics Nov. 21

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola on Monday, November 21st from 3:30 to 5:30. An appointment is required for compliance to the COVID-19 directives.

One-Act Team Finishes 2nd

The One-Act season has begun. The team of Hayden Reznicek, Aurora Slusarski, and Elena Murray received acting awards last weekend in the first competition of the year at York University. The team finished second overall.

Unified Bowling Team Starts Season

The Shelby-Rising City Unified Bowling team recently kicked off the season with a meet, finishing 5th, 7th and 8th out of 37 teams. Team one finished with a team score of 670. Team two finished with a team score of 559. Team three finished with a team score of 561.
