MEETING NOTICEShelby-Rising City school board will meet in open and public session on Tuesday, July 7th at 6:00 PM. This special meeting is to adopt the interim superintendent contract. This meeting will be in the BOE room 402 at Shelby-Rising City Public Schools, 650 N Walnut in Shelby.

Willits Family Reunion

There were 28 attendees at the Willits Family Picnic meeting in Buckley Park at Stromsburg on June 28, 2026. The group gathered on the south side of the park. It was a very warm day with a nice breeze.
Newly crowned Swedish Festival King Steve Dubas and Queen Judy Hanson were honored at a public reception at the Rose Colored Glass in Stromsburg on Thursday, June 25. Several past festival kings and queens were there to congratulate the new king and queen. Those hosting the event this year were past kings and queens, Tim Alvis and Sherri Georges along with Ken Everingham and Michelle Dubas. Photo provided.

The 2026 Swedish festival king/queen float will be in the Polk County Fair parade in Osceola on Saturday July 11 starting at 3:00pm at the fairgrounds, traveling uptown around the courthouse and back.
