NORFOLK, Neb. - Two hundred fifty-three students completed their degree, diploma or certificate programs in summer and fall 2022 from Northeast Community College. One hundred-seventy- nine completed during the fall term while another seventy-four completed in the summer.

Area Cheer, Dance Teams Ready for State Competition

Area cheer and dance teams are making final preparations for the 2023 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championships.
Cross County, Osceola and Shelby-Rising City will all be competing on Friday at the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island. High Plains does not have a competitive team.

STROMSBURG — Tyler Shoup learned detailing from a local company in a previous job. He was let go as his employer wanted full-time employees. Tyler, a 17-year old junior from Cross County, couldn’t work full time. He quit wrestling, and wanted a job, but couldn’t find anything that interested him.

Moms in Polk County are struggling to find daycare. They WANT to work but can’t because they have babies or toddlers. How can we help this need?
There are approximately 10 licensed daycares in Polk County; most of these are in Osceola and Stromsburg.
