Over 40 years ago, a young chap accompanied Mr. Dennis Jasper on big water softener install. The local nursing home, Midwest Covenant Home was needing a water softener and Stromsburg Soft Water was hired to do the job.

STROMSBURG — Every Wednesday evening during the school year preschoolers gather at Stromsburg Baptist Church to learn God’s Word. They sing songs, play a Bible game and learn a verse to recite. There is also a small craft and snack. This is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Health Department moving to Stromsburg

STROMSBURG — The Polk County Health Department will soon have a new home. Polk County is in the process of purchasing the old Yungdahl’s Apothecary building in Stromsburg, which is located on the Square at 313 Commercial St. The county is set to close on the building April 1.

Dance Teams Place at State in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND — Three Polk County cheer and dance teams competed on Friday at the 2023 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championships. Cross County, Osceola and Shelby-Rising City were on hand for the competition. And the Dazzlers did not return home empty-handed.

Area Cheer, Dance Teams Ready for State Competition

Area cheer and dance teams are making final preparations for the 2023 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championships. Cross County, Osceola and Shelby-Rising City will all be competing on Friday at the Heartland Event Center in Grand Island. High Plains does not have a competitive team.
