New Pharmacy Coming to Osceola

OSCEOLA — A new pharmacy is coming to Polk County. Central City-based Trav’s U-Save Pharmacy is expanding to Osceola. Owner Travis Kuchar said the pharmacy could open as soon as May. “If everything goes well, ideally it would be May or June,” he said. “I think I am ahead of schedule.

Area Students Can Spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S

OSCEOLA — Wednesday, February 22nd was the annual Polk County Spelling Bee held at the Osceola High School new gym. The morning competition was for fifth and sixth graders, and afternoon for seventh and eighth graders.

Last Week Cross County FFA Celebrated FFA Week

The FFA partnered with Central Valley Ag and the Fire Departments from Clarks and Polk. Elementary students were able to tour the HPC Animal Lab and learn about grain safety and how to rescue a person trapped in grain.

Lisa Shoup Selected for National Choir

Lisa Shoup recently tried out to be a part of a national choir that records music. The choir is Praise & Harmony and was started by the founders of the group Acapella. Acapella may be familiar to people as the group started in the 1980s and have won Grammy awards.

The “High Line Cutoff”

Before the state and federal highway systems came to be, back when every road was a dirt road, the first generation of motorists prompted a “better roads” movement. Localities were interested in seeing that these “named” roads went through their towns, promoting travel and business.

Hallå! Hello! I thought I’d drop a line. It has been a busy month at the Library. I am currently in the process of cataloguing the 100 children’s books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Cross County Girls’ Basketball Team! All the community will be cheering for you in Lincoln on Thursday morning. Hopefully the boys’ basketball team will make it to state also, and if not, they have all had a very good season.

The Two Parks Running Club will hold their annual meeting on Monday, March 6th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rose Colored Glass. At this meeting you can learn about the club and sign up for 2023 membership.
