MEETING NOTICEShelby-Rising City school board will meet in open and public session on Tuesday, July 7th at 6:00 PM. This special meeting is to adopt the interim superintendent contract. This meeting will be in the BOE room 402 at Shelby-Rising City Public Schools, 650 N Walnut in Shelby.

SHELBY - Friday (June 26th), the Shelby- Rising City School board interviewed Curtis Cogswell by Zoom for interim superintendent. They then went into executive session to discuss interim superintendent candidates.

According to minutes we received from SRC, they interviewed Dr. Dana Wiseman for 50 minutes. Following that, they interviewed Mr. Ernie Valentine for 48 minutes. They went into executive session to discuss for 10-15 minutes. They came out of executive session and moved to interview Dr.

SHELBY - Wednesday evening (June 17th) the board met with NASB (Nebraska Assoc. of School Boards) Shari Becker. She collected seven names and resumes of candidates for the interim superintendent at Shelby-Rising City.She said some of these contacted her, and some she initiated the contact.

SRC Looking into Greenhouse Purchase and More from School Board

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City is looking into building a greenhouse on the district’s campus.Two FFA members — juniors Garrett Ruth and Madison Augustin — along with their teacher, Holly Luettel, presented the board of education with a proposal that would build a greenhouse near the high school.

SHELBY - Shelby-Rising City Schools are looking for a new superintendent.Superintendent Tucker Tejkl submitted his letter of resignation to the board of education last week. The board accepted the resignation at their meeting on Thursday.

Shelby Library Summer Reading

The Shelby Community Library Summer Reading Program theme is "Dinosaurs - Unearth a Story". Story times will be Wednesdays in June from 10 AM to about 11 AM. The dates are June 3, 10, 17 and 24th. We will be reading books, making a fun craft and learning about dinosaurs.
