Three Golds, Two Bronze and HPC Boys 7th as Team

OMAHA–After two hot windy days in Omaha, the 32 athletes who competed at state completed their events and 16 medals were brought home.After an exciting tie breaker jump off against Mariah Tessman of Heartland, Janna Roberts cleared 10’9” for a new school record and gold medal in pole vault.

Class C Districts

UTICA — Class C-6 districts were held in Utica Thursday at Centennial High School. Ten teams competed. Individually top two spots guaranteed to go to state, and one relay. Additional spots were filled based on time/distance.Polk County had 13 individuals qualify for state track.

Cross County Invite: Girls 2, 3, 4 & CC Boys 2nd

STROMSBURG – Nine teams gathered for the Dennis Koinzan Invite at Cross County. Included were three in our coverage area: Cross County, Osceola and Shelby- Rising City. Area girls did well with Shelby-RC, Cross County and Osceola placing second through fourth respectively.

Polk County Girls Go 2, 3, 4 & Boys 2, 3 at CRC

Polk County NewsOSCEOLA – McCool Junction cleaned up, taking the CRC championship for both boys and girls. McKenna Yates of McCool Junction was the big winner for the girls in the 100, 200 and 400 and the female Gail Arnett Award.For our teams, the Cross County girls came in second by half a point.

SRC Girls Win Own Invite

SHELBY - Another windy day for track on Tuesday as thirteen teams competed at the Shelby-Rising City Invite. The Lady Huskies took first place with 111 points, just three points over David City. Cross County girls came in third, with Osceola following in fourth.

Dickey Fulfills Childhood Dream

LINCOLN - After graduating from Cross County in December, Izaac Dickey headed to Lincoln for football. Most Nebraska kids dream of playing football for Nebraska, and Dickey is no different.He played in the spring game this last weekend in front of over 62,000 fans.

FRIEND— Fifteen teams competed at the Exeter-Milligan/ Friend Invite at the Friend track on Tuesday, April 16. The weather was drizzly with a strong northwest wind, but the athletes braved the elements to compete.
