The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola on Wednesday, December 14th from 1:30 to 3:30 and Monday, December 19th from 3:30 to 5:30. An appointment is required for compliance to the COVID-19 directives.

Polk County was hit with the first true snowfall of the season this week. Tuesday morning started with a freezing rain and sleet. By mid-morning the freezing rain turned over to a blowing snow.

Sixteen families are feasting on turkeys this holiday season after winning a free turkey in the Polk County News Turkey Giveaway. More than 160 entries were submitted into the contest this year. Readers were given a chance to cutout the entry form and return it to 16 locations around Polk County.

OSCEOLA — For the last six years, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola has been a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. These shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, clothes and personal hygiene items may be the only gift a child will receive.

Gresham Election Results

According to the York County Elections Office, Conner Luettel received 39 votes for Gresham Village Trustees. Kim Sheehan received 34 votes. The county reports 14 write-in votes. There were a total of 128 ballots cast in Gresham. Not all voters voted in all races.
