Sertoma 8-Man All Star Game Features 4 Local Players

HASTINGS - Four seniors were selected to play in the Sertoma 8-man all star football game held Saturday evening in Hastings.
The summer Polk County Slammers won districts by winning four games over the weekend and qualify for state! They won Class C District 5 for 18 and under. Currently they are 12-3 and play at Twin River on Tuesday the 18th, followed by a home game on Wednesday the 19th. State will be in Hastings at the softball complex on July 5-7. Photo provided.

Three Golds, Two Bronze and HPC Boys 7th as Team

OMAHA–After two hot windy days in Omaha, the 32 athletes who competed at state completed their events and 16 medals were brought home.After an exciting tie breaker jump off against Mariah Tessman of Heartland, Janna Roberts cleared 10’9” for a new school record and gold medal in pole vault.

Class D Districts

OSCEOLA – Eleven teams competed in Osceola at D-2 districts Wednesday. Individually top two spots are guaranteed to go to state, and one relay. Additional spots were filled based on time/ distance.Polk County had 19 individuals qualify for state track.

TWO TEAMS WIN DISTRICT TRACK

OSCEOLA & UTICA - Class D District two track was held on Wednesday in Osceola. Nineteen Polk County competitors qualified for state in Omaha in 34 events. Champions were crowned with Osceola girls repeating as district champ, and High Plains boys winning the district title.

Polk County Girls Go 2, 3, 4 & Boys 2, 3 at CRC

Polk County NewsOSCEOLA – McCool Junction cleaned up, taking the CRC championship for both boys and girls. McKenna Yates of McCool Junction was the big winner for the girls in the 100, 200 and 400 and the female Gail Arnett Award.For our teams, the Cross County girls came in second by half a point.

SRC Girls Win Own Invite

SHELBY - Another windy day for track on Tuesday as thirteen teams competed at the Shelby-Rising City Invite. The Lady Huskies took first place with 111 points, just three points over David City. Cross County girls came in third, with Osceola following in fourth.

Osceola Girls 2nd at Palmer Invite

FULLERTON - Thirteen teams competed in Fullerton for the Palmer Invite. Included were the Osceola and High Plains teams. The Osceola girls came in second. On the boys’ side, High Plains came in third.Team results Girls: 1. Neb. Christian 156, 2. Osceola 92, 3. Central Valley 89, 4. Wood River 52, 5.
