Harvey McHarry, a 100-year-old veteran of World War II was surprised by a quilt of valor on Tuesday at the Polk Senior Center. Harvey enlisted in the air force in 1942 and served until 1946. He was moved to the infantry unit and missed going to the Battle of the Bulge because the war ended as his assignment was going to begin.
