New discoveries have come from the Polk county courthouse in Osceola in the course of digitizing court records. One subject of interest were the estate settlements of some of the pioneers which revealed how much farmland some of them were able to amass. A theme seemed to be the fathers’ desire to provide each of their children, and families were large, with their own farms upon his passing....
