Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drop Off

Shoebox Drop-Off for Operation Christmas Child runs next week from November 17th through the 24th.For the 9th year, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola, is the official drop-off center for our area.Shoebox gifts provide God’s love in a tangible way, to children throughout the world.

by Beth Sparrow STROMSBURG - Monday was meeting night, for three school boards, a village and a city. Cross County was one of those who met in open and public session.They discussed career academy where three teachers have added a class that relates to a career.

Tomte Scavenger Hunt for Kids

The Stromsburg Woman’s Club is sponsoring a Tomte Scavenger Hunt for children ages 1-10 on Saturday, November 29th during the Lighting of the Square!The downtown square will contain 30 hidden Tomte ornaments. Children are encouraged to find ONE Tomte placed in a bag with an identifying number.
The charging stations located in the parking area between the RPPD, the Mexican restaurant and Olson’s car repair will no longer be in service. The agreement between the RPPD and the city has run out. The city is removing the meters and disconnecting electricity since no one is paying for it. ATV Accident Takes Life of One

ATV/Pedestrian accident 1 mile south of highway 66 on County Road C happened in Polk County on Thursday, November 6th about 5:18 pm. According to Polk County Sheriff Ladwig, the driver of the ATV was Nicholas Rodine, age 42, of Polk.
