Visit Nebraska Introduces New Tour- ism Brand: Nebraska, All Heart

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Tourism Commission, also known as Visit Nebraska, has launched a new statewide tourism brand, Nebraska. All Heart., a platform that celebrates the people, places and experiences that make Nebraska genuinely welcoming and refreshingly real.

The Stromsburg Woman’s Club will meet on February 23 at 2:00 PM in the Viking Center.We will enjoy the many talents of the Cross County students in the Fine Arts Programs. The hostess is Diane Nielsen and Merry Hanson has devotions. Everyone from the community is invited to join us.

Children’s Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will have immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Stromsburg, NE, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 1:30 to 3:30, and Monday, February 23, 2026, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. An appointment is required.

Later Delivery Out of State

NOTICE: Mail is leaving Stromsburg (and probably other area towns) earlier now. The truck now leaves at 10:30 AM instead of 2:30 PM. Last week’s newspaper went out on Thursday instead of Wednesday. We can’t make 10:30 AM very often.

Tomasevicz Pushing for Bobsledding Glory in Italy

Shelby native Curt Tomasevicz fulfilled his dream of playing football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, where he was a scrappy special teamer. But since then, his life and career have taken a circuitous route — a twisting, turning path kind of like a bobsled course.

Nebraska Minimum Wage

LINCOLN - As of January 1, 2026 the minimum wage in Nebraska is $15 an hour. Per LB481203 that wage will go up each year by the increase in the cost of living. The federal minimum wage is $7.25.The tipped minimum wage is $2.13 per hour. Their tips plus wage should equal or exceed the minimum wage.
