Propery Tax Statements- Don’t Tell the Whole Story

REPRESENTING YOUProperty taxes can be looked at as a story problem. Unlike a story problem though, with property taxes you don’t always have all the information you need at the start. In late May and early June property owners receive notice of valuation changes.

STATE FAIR FASHION SHOW

GRAND ISLAND - The runway sparkled with 4-H talent at the Nebraska State Fair! On Saturday, August 23, Polk County 4-H members joined nearly 300 youth from across Nebraska in the 4-H Fashion Show at Raising Nebraska in Grand Island.

HollingerAnnounces Resignation

After 17 years at Cross County, Mr. Hollinger turned in his resignation and the board accepted it at Monday night’s meeting. He will resign at the end of the 2025-26 school year.Board president Kurt Moore commented they “knew it was coming but appreciated the letter”.
The memorial for veterans is coming along in the Stromsburg square. The concrete was poured, and walls were placed. The funding is about half raised. Metal plates will be put on the walls for each veteran buried in Stromsburg and Swede Home cemeteries. The winner of the second week of the football contest is Kent Fuller, who only missed two.Also missing only two was Preston Oder, but Fuller was closer on the passing yards for Nebraska. Lori Behnken was third missing three.There were 31 entries again this week, but a few different names.

WICHITA, KS - Frank Severt Gestrine was known as the first Polk County “boy” to sacrifice his life in World War I, but not much was known about how he got wounded in the war...until recently.

Nebraska hunters are encouraged to fine-tune their gear and skill at shooting ranges across the state as hunting season approaches.The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has compiled an updated list of available public and private ranges to help hunters prepare for their hunting seasons.
