Each year, millions of packages are stolen each day. In 2025, 104 million packages are stolen in the USA. This number is decreased 13% from 2023 numbers.We may think because we live in a small town, more rural area, that it won’t happen here. That is not the case.

Osceola’s Christmas Downtown celebration packed the square on Monday, December 8th! Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, and Cindy Lou Who welcomed more than 140 children. WOW! Karen Gestrine provided Santa’s candy canes, while the Good Samaritan Society donated the Grinch’s gifts.

Shelby-Rising City’s Mr. Brian Evans earned his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University! He also was this year’s Closing Reflection for his class and for the Winter Commencement of 2025! Mr. Evans lives in Stromsburg and teaches ELL at Shelby-Rising City.
