FARMERS MARKET

Above: The Osceola Methodist Church is bringing farm fresh produce to Osceola weekly. This produce is donated from farms in the area with surplus. Bring a bag or box and take what you can use. Tuesdays from 4-4:30 PM at the Methodist Church parking lot.

Charles Noyd, Polk County Historical Society president, gave a presentation on a few of the 61 female homesteaders in Polk County. Featured were Christine, Caroline and Louise Anderson, and Clara Ticehurst as well as a few others. Noyd hopes to do more research and turn this into a book some day. PCN photo by Beth Sparrow.

Late Night Swim

The Stromsburg City Pool is having a late night swim from 8-11 PM on Friday, August 1st. You must be in middle school or older to stay past 9 PM. Regular pool admission prices will apply.

Update on Polk Nuisance Properties

The Polk Village Board met Monday, July 14th at 8 PM. The attorney and nuisance officer, Drew Graham, was present and reviewed some properties. Nine properties were taken off the nuisance list, pending notification.
