Annie Jeffrey Volunteers Make Donation for New Sterilizer

The Annie Jeffrey Volunteers donated $6,500.00 from their sales at the Thrift Shop to help purchase a new Sterilizer for the hospital at their annual Christmas Party.The AJ Volunteers started in 1994 with the goal to raise money for the hospital.

McCormick Family Donates to County

The McCormick family recently made charitable donations to three area foundations through the Polk County Foundation. They donated to the Annie Jeffrey Foundation, The Stromsburg Library Foundation and the City of Stromsburg.The City of Stromsburg received $8399.

OSCEOLA GIVING TREE: SPREADING LOVE

For most kids, Christmas is a magical time with presents under the tree, and they are so excited to find out what’s in them. Perhaps Santa brought them that special item they requested.For some kids, parents are barely getting by paycheck to paycheck and may not be able to afford to get much.

Hurry! Ship Your Holiday Gifts ASAP!

If you haven’t shipped your holiday gifts yet, you still have time, but not much. Deadlines are looming, if they haven’t passed already.At the United State Postal Service, first class and ground advantage deadline is December 18th to receive by Christmas/ Hanukkah (December 25th).

Rattle the Doorknobs

As a young boy growing up on a farm east of Osceola in the 1950s, I have many memories that remain clear and strong. One planted in me by my grandpa was of the man who rattled doorknobs.
