I like to learn about (and eventually write) about unusual holidays. This week I’d like to point out a special day that occurs each year on January 31—Backwards Day. Those choosing to observe this holiday are encouraged to do things backwards that day.

Basking in the Winter Sun

Wayne State Fall Dean’s List

WAYNE – Wayne State College included 1,312 students on the dean’s list for exemplary academic achievement during the Fall 2023 semester. Students listed on the dean’s list are full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Stromsburg, NE, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Monday, February 26, 2024, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Flu shots are available. An appointment is required.
