Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held each Tuesday of the month. They will be held at the Senior Center and rotate between each town in Polk County.

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Stromsburg, NE, on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Flu shots are available. An appointment is required.

The halls of Midwest Covenant Home are “decked” with trees and wreaths. Carols are played and sang reminding us to be of good cheer. Our “crafty” residents created their own trees this week from Styrofoam cones and old pieces of jewelry.

Osceola Whobilation Osceola celebrated Christmas on Tuesday night. It started with the nominees for Cheermeister judging fudge. They determined the winner was cookies and cream fudge by Janna Roberts and Emersyn Prososki of Osceola foods class.
Ted Turner’s Blue Creek Ranch, located north of Oshkosh. Turner, the billionaire who founded CNN, owned nearly 500,000 acres of Nebraska ranch land at his peak. Now 85 and living with Lewy body dementia, Turner is presumed to be transferring much of that land to a nonprofit ag research institute bearing his name. Long before anyone talked about China, Bill Gates or multinational corporations buying up Nebraska land, another name was spoken, with curiosity and frustration, on farms and ranches from Ord to Ogallala. Ted Turner, they said. Ted Turner is buying everything.
