The High Plains Community Schools football team will remain 8-man for the next two-year cycle, but the decision was ultimately not in the Board of Education’s hands. “There was a misunderstanding,” said Principal Micah Fisher at the Tuesday night meeting.

15 QOV AWARDED AT VETERANS’ DAY SERVICES

Superintendent Tejkl opened the day with a welcome and talked about what it means to be a veteran. He mentioned the definition is someone who completed a branch of the armed service. He wasn’t in the military but gave his appreciation to those who have.

Stromsburg

Veterans’ Day services were held at Cross County Schools on Thursday, November 9th. They were moved from Friday to Thursday after hopes of a football playoff game on Friday, which turned out not to be needed. Quilts of valor were presented to five people who have served in the armed forces.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held each Tuesday of the month. They will be held at the Senior Center and rotate between each town in Polk County.
