Fun For Young and Old at the Gresham Library

On Saturday, March 4th the Gresham Library held their monthly Story Hour. This month’s theme was rainbows. Activities included rainbows in a jar science and rainbow blow-painting. The Gresham Library hosted Bingo on Sunday, March 5th.

Scholarship Fundraiser

The Polk Community Club is sponsoring a scholarship fundraiser on Sunday March 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Polk Community Hall. The menu is sloppy joes, beans, potato salad, chips and homemade desserts.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Walkins are welcome any day during office hours.

Hello from the Polk Public Library! Nothing new going on this week. With spring break at school, I will be spending more time at the library. I am so excited when I am processing new books! I have to be honest, I read a lot of the books and for some reason, that slows me down!

Gresham News

Gresham Library is open to all ages on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. For more information visit Gresham Public Library Facebook page or contact the Village Office. St Peter Lutheran Church Lenten services will be held Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.

Nominate Books Now for the 2023 Nebraska Book Awards

The 2023 Nebraska Book Awards program, sponsored by the Nebraska Center for the Book (NCB) and Nebraska Library Commission, will recognize and honor books that are written by Nebraska authors, published by Nebraska publishers, set in Nebraska, or relate to Nebraska.

New Pharmacy Coming to Osceola

OSCEOLA — A new pharmacy is coming to Polk County. Central City-based Trav’s U-Save Pharmacy is expanding to Osceola. Owner Travis Kuchar said the pharmacy could open as soon as May. “If everything goes well, ideally it would be May or June,” he said. “I think I am ahead of schedule.

Area Students Can Spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S

OSCEOLA — Wednesday, February 22nd was the annual Polk County Spelling Bee held at the Osceola High School new gym. The morning competition was for fifth and sixth graders, and afternoon for seventh and eighth graders.
