Enter the Christmas Light Contest

The Polk County RPPD and Osceola Community Action Group are having a Christmas Light contest. A team of judges will be out on December 16th to pick two winners.

Mayor Re-Elected; Hays, Miller Head to Council

OSCEOLA — Osceola residents went to the polls last week and Osceola Mayor Donald Graff was re-elected for another term. The mayor ran unopposed. Voters chose Charles C. Hays and Jerry Miller to serve on the Osceola City Council. Hays received 224 votes, while Miller received 175.

Sheriff to Serve on State Advisory Committee

LINCOLN — Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts announced appointments for numerous boards and commissions on Tuesday. Included in the list of appointments was Polk County Sheriff Dwaine Ladwig of Osceola being appointed to the Racial Profiling Advisory Committee.

Donate Books Students at the high school and middle school love seeing new books come into the classroom. To continue the love for reading in the classroom, please consider donating to the MS/HS Book Club! Contact Mrs. Baloun or the high school office if you have questions.

St. Anne’s Guild

Christmas potluck lunch will be Thursday, December 1st at 12:30 p.m. at the Shelby Legion Club. Guild members please bring a potluck dish. Guests may be invited. Rolls, dessert and table service are provided. Circle 4, Bev Gillespie and Sue Smith are in charge of the event.

Senior Center

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers at the Shelby Senior Center. If you would like to join this amazing team call Anita at 402-527-5158. Just a couple hours once a week is needed (11AM-1:00PM)

Congratulations to our volleyball team winning districts and qualifying for the state tournament in Lincoln! The season didn’t end the way the girls wanted, but man what a season and you have so much to be proud of! One-Act season is off and running and the crew has competed at two events.

Cross County FCCLA Hosting a Swedish Family Baking Event

Join Cross County FCCLA and Sharon Noyd as Sharon demonstrates how to make Swedish lace cookies and Rosettes. All are welcome to join on November 17th from 4:00-6:00 in the FCS room at Cross County Schools. All supplies will be provided. We would love to have you!
