Burdette F. Cox was born on November 26, 1917 in Grant, Nebraska. He graduated from Perkins County High School in 1936. He was working as a farmhand when his military service began. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 25, 1941 at Fort Crook, NE, now known as Offutt Air Force Base.

Man Arrested After Multi-County Pursuit

A Custer County man was arrested on Thursday following a short pursuit in Merrick County that ended in rural Polk County. Officers noticed a suspicious vehicle in Clarks that matched a vehicle that evaded officers Wednesday night.

The One-Act season has begun. The team of Hayden Reznicek, Aurora Slusarski, and Elena Murray received acting awards last weekend in the first competition of the year at York University. The team finished second overall.

The Shelby-Rising City Unified Bowling team recently kicked off the season with a meet, finishing 5th, 7th and 8th out of 37 teams. Team one finished with a team score of 670. Team two finished with a team score of 559. Team three finished with a team score of 561.
