OMAHA - Jacob Smith, senior at Cross County, was nominated and received the DJ Hero Award. He was one of 19 Nebraska students chosen. This award is based on perseverance, generosity and servant-leadership.

LINCOLN - Some new laws have been put into effect recently. Governor Pillen signed some or the legislature passed them. Some went into effect almost immediately, while others are delayed. Highlighting a few notable laws: 1.
Osceola girls repeated as Crossroads Conference track champions. They also were team champs last year. Cross County came in runner up. Nick Hatfield was asked to assess the needed repairs and costs of the “Save the Bandstand Project which he agreed to do. After three fourths of the money was raised, the project began with Nick overseeing the entire restoration.

AWANA Concludes 45th Year

STROMSBURG - Wednesday (April 22nd), Stromsburg AWANA club wrapped up it’s 45 year with their annual awards night. In AWANA kids from age Kindergarten to sixth grade study Bible verses and recite them, as well as hear a speaker in counsel time and play games.
