State Transportation Improvement Plan Amendment Announced

 Lincoln, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is accepting publiccomment regarding its proposed amendment to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) –a mandatory, four-year plan of all federally funded transportation projects to be undertaken within the state.

Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will have an immunization clinic at the Polk County Health Department, Stromsburg, NE, on Wednesday, January 14th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm and Monday, January 26th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.An appointment is required.

Childcare Gap: What Works for Other Towns

STROMSBURG - A group of Stromsburg community members are concerned about the lack of childcare in the area and are finding out how to solve it. Two people from Seward, Jonathan Jank and Collin Hain, came to Stromsburg to discuss how they have helped their childcare gap.What is a childcare gap?

Shelby-Rising City hired new special education teacher Elisa Howitt who began in January.She was born in Hannover, Germany and moved to the US when she was seven. She grew up in Omaha and graduated from Ralston Public Schools. She was a para and teacher there for five years.
