Applications from municipalities and other organizations interested in 2026 Recreational Trails Program grants are being accepted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.Applications will be accepted May 4 through noon Central time Aug. 21.

Hello from the Polk Public Library! The wind isn't blowing this afternoon so I must have been blown out of Nebraska!Since it is National Library month, I would like to thank my library board for all they do to help me and the library. I appreciate all that you do so very, very much!

This past week, I woke several mornings to the sound of birds singing. They chirped their early morning melodies with gusto, confidence, and cheer. As I listened to their serenades, I pictured them prefacing each of their days by praising their Creator.

St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 South Polk, in Osceola is again happy to host the National Day of Prayer luncheon event which will be on Thursday, May 7, 2026, 11:45 a.m., in the social room of the church. We will gather around 11:45 with the luncheon and the speaker following.
