Observations at 150 Polk County observances upon the 150th year are happening. This contribution intends to trace the several threads of origin back to the rural Calvary Lutheran Church, Swede Home. Most of what we know on the subject was written by one of its sons, C.A. Sandahl in his Conference History. More recent discoveries came from the 1918 history by Abel Anderson.
