    Polk County softball

    After winning its opener last Thursday by a 13-2 margin at Highway 91, the Polk County Slammers went 0-3 at last Saturday’s Freeman Invitational in Lincoln to fall to 1-3 overall.

    In the opener, the Slammers ripped 16 hits and had a pair of four-run innings. Lindee Kelley led the way with a 5-for-5 performance, doubling and tripling and driving in two runs. Shy Krol was 3-for-4 …
