In high school, I told my grandmother “I’d give my left arm to be ambidextrous.” She replied: “Oh, you kids use such big words!” I don’t think I ever explained it to her. “Ambidextrous” means to use your left or right hand equally well. You can’t give up your left arm and still be ambidextrous. That’s what’s funny about it. But it’s not funny if you have to explain it.
