Marvin D. Hablitzel
Marvin D. Hablitzel, 89, of Lincoln, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Eventide Care Home in Lincoln. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Clarks Cemetery with Trent Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12th from 5-7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. The family requests everyone wear either Husker or Western attire.

Marvin was born on May 1, 1937 to Grace Hablitzel in Milford, Nebraska. He grew up in the York area, and after his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He actively served his country from 1954 until 1960, then in the Army Reserves until 1963. Following his honorable discharge, Marvin moved back to York and began drilling water wells. He then moved to Boise, Idaho for a while, and then back to York, where he worked for Champion/Atlantic Homes for several years. On June 14, 1980, he was united in marriage to Connie Sue Coon in Clarks. They then resided in Central City where Marvin designed and built their home in Riverside. In 1994, they then moved to Bozeman, MT where Marvin ran his own company, repairing Mobile Homes, as well as working at Lowe’s. Marvin retired in 2013 and moved back to Osceola until 2025, when they moved to Lincoln.
Marvin was always active, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking. He also enjoyed country music, western movies, puzzles, and bowling. His greatest love was getting to spend time with family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie of Lincoln; his children, Kris Girardin (Dave Graybill) of Columbus, Mark Hablitzel of Fullerton, Shannon (Joey) Rupp of Lincoln, Terri (Don) Kostal of O’Dell and Jeanette (Richard) Rieken of Clarks; his 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; and his special dog, Prince.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Duane Hablitzel; his daughter, Crystal Rupp; his twin sister, Merdith Schlegelmilch; his sister, Gladys Pierce; brother, David Peters; great-granddaughter, Katlyn Kelley; and special aunt and uncle, Homer and Beulah Collingham.
