St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Gresham held their Sunday school children’s Christmas program on Sunday evening. The program was entitled “Light a Candle” and 23 children participated in grades preschool to 8th grade. Nine youth group members also participated.

On Saturday evening, a getto gether was held in Waco for the Rucker family. The occasion was Omer Rucker’s great-granddaughter, Kyle Rucker was here visiting from California. Guests included Omer Rucker and Pat Chapman of Gresham, Omelea Knuth and Rachel of rural Seward, Robert Rucker and fiance Deb of Wood River, Roger and Theo Rucker and Allen and Crystal Barth and family, all of Utica and Amber Rucker and daughter of Seward.

Carol Dey was a Sunday lunch guest of Ruth Abresch.

On Sunday morning, Robert and Melinda Stoll attended their grandchildren Payton, Barrett and Kambri Andel’s Christmas program at Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City.

Among those attending the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Christmas program on Sunday evening were Ann Tonniges, Tom and Judi Luettel, Shirley Richter and Robert and Melinda Stoll.

Jeanne Blum and Erin of Benedict were Sunday visitors of Wilma Kessler at the Hearthstone in York. Also calling this past week was Stephanie Blum.

Joe and Casey Tonniges and Cheyenne hosted a birthday party honoring Chaylee Tonniges on her 10th birthday on Saturday. Among the guests were Staci Bolton, Mackenzie and Chance of Lincoln, Randy and Susie Tonniges and Ann Tonniges.

On Sunday afternoon, Art and Shirley Richter were among the family members helping their great-grandson Codey Nienhueser celebrate his 3rd birthday at the home of his grandparents, Doug and Barb Nienhueser of ru ral York.

Lindley Kessler enjoyed the K-2 and 3-6 Centennial Elementary Christmas programs on Tuesday evening in Utica. His great-grandchildren Dahrran, MacKenzie and Kaitlynn Cast participated.

On Saturday, Tom and Judi Luettel, Art and Shirley Richter attended the junior high wrestling invite at Seward. Conner Luettel is an 8th grader on the team and received a 4th place medal for the day.

Cindy Schulte of Shelby hosted the annual Gresham Country Store employee Christmas party on Wednesday evening at her home. Shirley Richter was among those attending.

Elaine Tonniges returned home on Sunday after spending a few days at the home of her daughter and husband, Susie and Denny Ocken of Elwood. Family members joining them for an early Christmas were Wade and Amy Dunn, Payton and Colt of Dodge City, Kansas, Nick and Kristy Pieper, Carson and Owen and Jeff and Kelsey Pieper, all of York.

On Sunday, D.J and Tiffany Talbott and Kalyn of Central City hosted a birthday party honoring Kylie Talbott on her 4th birthday. Among the guests were Cindy Schulte of Shelby and Bob and Addle Tonniges and Ann Tonniges, all of Gresham.

Gerry and Pam George and Richard and Janis George were among the friends and relatives attending the first birthday party for Braylon Perkins at his home in Lincoln. Hosts were his parents, Layne and Betsy Perkins.

Pam George was a Saturday overnight guest of Craig and Audra George and baby Kendyl Blythe of Eagle.

Richard and Janis George hosted an early Christmas dinner at their home on Sunday. Attending were Jim and Lanette Bathen of David City, Gabe and Jill Bathen and Bailey of Seward, Willie and Kylie Hollalz and girls of Creston, Travis and Abby Kramer of Lincoln, Gerry and Pam George, Brenda George of Elkhom, Layne and Betsy Perkins and Braylon of Lincoln, Ed George and Marj Shriner of Lincoln.
