Blue River Falls to Lakeview, 9-1

DAVID CITY — The bats were cold in David City on Thursday.

Blue River managed just four hits in a 9-1 loss to Lakeview.

Rylie Carter went 1-for-2 with an RBI, scoring Meagan Jahde in the first inning to tie the ballgame at 1-1. Jahde would go 2-for-3 on the day. Alexa Carter managed the Panthers’ only other hit in the contest.

The Vikings would explode for 5 runs in the second inning and add 3 insurance runs in the fourth inning to put the game away. Cali Bentz, who went 3-for-3 and only missed hitting for the cycle by a double, led the Lakeview offense. She finished with 6 RBI in the game.

Autumn Lindsley pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up all 9 runs on 9 hits. She struck out a Viking batter. Aubree Siffring came on in the fourth inning with one out to close out the game.

The Blue River junior varsity picked up a 10-2 win over Lakeview on Thursday.

Blue River (9-3) takes on Tekamah-Herman (6-6) on Tuesday at home. The Tigers are coming off a 19-0 win over West Point-Beemer.
