GENOA — Polk County Slammers shut out Twin River on Tuesday, defeating the Titans 10-0 in 4 innings.
The Slammers belted out 11 hits as they rode hot bats, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Polk County added three runs in the third and four runs in the fourth to close out the contest.
Courtney Sunday got the win for the Slammers, scattering three hits over four innings. She struck out four batters and walked one Titan. Sunday helped her cause on Tuesday, going 3-for-3 at the plate with 4 RBI, hitting two doubles in the win.
The Slammers (11-4) take on Ord (1-8) on Thursday.
