Huskies improving, finish 7th at Lakeview Invite

COLUMBUS — The Shelby-Rising City girls’ golf team was back in action on Thursday, finishing 7th at the Lakeview Invite at Quail Run, shooting a 486.

“Yesterday went much better than last week,” Huskies coach Sara Jensen said. “We improved our team score by 67 strokes and Lillian Wetjen shot a career best. It is exciting to see some of the girls meeting some of their individual goals halfway through the season.”

Wetjen led the way with a team-low of 111, while Jenna Logan finished with a 112. Aurora Slusarski shot a 123, while Loralie Logan had a 140 and Clare Willis had a 145.

Scotus finished first with a team school of 371. Scotus’s Cecilia Arndt was the top finisher with a score of 74.

Shelby-Rising City is back in action on Monday when they take on Lakeview and Schuyler at Ryan Hill in Osceola.
