Burdette F. Cox was born on November 26, 1917 in Grant, Nebraska. He graduated from Perkins County High School in 1936. He was working as a farmhand when his military service began.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 25, 1941 at Fort Crook, NE, now known as Offutt Air Force Base. He remembers the sheriff driving him to Fort Crook to enlist. The next day, his birthday...
