“Spring Rains”

The calendar tells us that spring has arrived. However, here in southeast Nebraska, it feels like we’ve been experiencing all four seasons in a matter of days. We’ve had unseasonably warm temps, LOTS of wind, a bit of snow after a relatively dry winter, more wind, and finally, a warm spring rain.

Next Tuesday, March 29, is significant because it will be the 88th day of the year. That is the day a German musician named Nils Frahm has designated as World Piano Day—a day for people around the globe to celebrate the instrument that has 88 keys.

Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola on Wednesday April 13, 2022 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Monday April 18, 2022 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. An appointment is required for compliance to the COVID-19 directives.

Good turnout for Polk County Republican Convention

About 50 people attended the Polk County Republican Convention last Thursday evening in Osceola at the Civic Center. This included local republicans from the county, as well as some candidates and their representatives. Steve Davies, chairperson for the Polk County Republicans opened the meeting.
