February is American Heart Month – Heart attacks and strokes are life-and-death emergencies – every second counts. If you see or have any of the symptoms, immediately call 911. Not all of these signs occur in every heart attack or stroke. Sometimes they go away and return.

Iowa State University has released its Dean’s List for fall semester 2021. To be included a student must have earned a gradepoint average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours.

I recently read an article in the Lincoln Journal Star that tells an all-too-familiar story. In 2012, Dr. Jeff Fraser, a family practice doctor from Lincoln, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After his third treatment, another doctor prescribed him hydrocodone for back pain caused by the cancer.
