ALAN’S ANECDOTESAs I drove home from work today, I saw a gray smudge of dark clouds along the horizon with a thinner strip of white jagged clouds on top. It looked like I was driving toward a mountain range. It was pretty, but I knew it wasn’t the mountain view that I really craved.

BETH’S BITSI took in A LOT of sports this week, more than usual it seemed. It’s a good thing I grew up going to a lot of sports. My parents were teachers, so I think we attended every home event starting when I was a baby. Then when I got to junior high and high school, I also went to the away ones.
