New Bills and Regular Session

REPRESENTING YOUWith the recent special session behind us, the Legislature is looking toward the upcoming regular session in January 2025. I am working on a number of potential bills that I will likely introduce next January. Some of these bills will be new.

Want to be Ambidextrous

ALAN’S ANECDOTESIn high school, I told my grandmother “I’d give my left arm to be ambidextrous.” She replied: “Oh, you kids use such big words!” I don’t think I ever explained it to her. “Ambidextrous” means to use your left or right hand equally well.

Health Update & More

BETH’S BITSFirst of all an update on my health. I am through the worst, chemotherapy and surgery. However I do start radiation next week (Monday), and it’s every day for 3 weeks (16 times). The office will be closed at a certain time every day Monday through Friday while I get it.

Messy Desk

REPORTER’S NOTEBOOKIt’s a weekly battle that I keep losing.My desk is a mess. I try to clean it up every Wednesday after we get the newspaper out, but I swear by Thursday morning my notes and papers and pens are all scattered about again.

An EV Mandate Lie from VP

NEBRASKA SENATORFor years, Vice President Kamala Harris has supported some of the most extreme electric vehicle (EV) mandates proposed by her Party. She consistently supported EV mandates as U.S. Senator for California and as a presidential candidate in 2020.

“Summer Money”

On vacation in Colorado last week, my twelve-year-old said she wanted to spend some “summer money” at a souvenir shop. She thought that because we were on vacation, we owed her money to spend on herself.My kids are old enough now to buy things with money they’ve worked for.
