Bulldog season ends at sub-district

CAIRO — Osceola saw its season come to an end on Tuesday in their sub-district opener, falling to Nebraska Christian 75-57. Forty of the Eagle's points came from sophomore Sheridan Falk alone. Falk was very quick and accurate with her shots, making it very difficult for Osceola to keep up.

Osceola Boys Escaped Upset by Huskies

OSCEOLA – After winning one night earlier on a shot at the buzzer, Osceola High School’s boys basketball team escaped an upset bid by visiting Shelby-Rising City as Kale Gustafson’s 25 points led the Bulldogs to a 69-60 victory over a game Huskies squad.

State Wrestling Preview

OMAHA– Ten boys and one girl are off to Omaha for state wrestling. This is the pinnacle of their career in an individual sport. For Dakota Gress, a sophomore at High Plains, she is a pioneer for girls’ wrestling. She wrestled last year as a freshman. This year she is state bound with a 28-9 record.

Class C District 1 (CCO) 126: Devin Nuttelman (41-8) placed 2nd and scored 18.0 team points. Champ. Round 1 - Devin Nuttelman (CCO, 41-8) received a bye. Quarterfinal - Devin Nuttelman won by fall over Gage Brown (Thayer Central, 20-14) in 3:07.

Osceola Senior Girls Dominate in Win Over SRC

OSCEOLA – The three seniors on the Osceola girls basketball team have earned All-State honors in softball and track and field and helped their teams either make a state tourney or win one over their prep athletic careers. On Friday, they showed that they can play a little basketball too.

Bulldogs Add Wins with Class

OSCEOLA – Osceola hosted BDS in a rematch from conference. The Bulldogs came out on top again, by 12 points instead of eight, with a score of 53-41. The game started similarly to the first time, with Osceola putting in 16 points to the Eagles’ five.

CROSSROADS WRESTLING

BRAINARD - Six Polk County wrestlers took first place with Shelby-Rising City coming out as conference champion again. Wrestlers that placed include the following: CCO: Devin Nuttelman (132) 1st, Paxton Burke (157) 4th.

Osceola Girls Split Games in a Week

OSCEOLA – The Osceola girls hosted BDS on Tuesday, and lost a close one 40-34. The girls started out slow, just getting four points in the first quarter to BDS’ 8. They had a much better second quarter, putting up 11 points to the Eagles’ nine.
