As combines pop up in fields across the Midwest, the Nebraska Corn Board and Nebraska Corn Growers Association encourage farmers, as well as local residents and visitors, to take a second for safety in rural areas this harvest season.

2 die in Friday morning crash

OSCEOLA — Two people were killed in a vehicle accident just before 8 a.m. Friday morning. Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Polk County emergency personnel responded to a call at 7:41 a.m. Friday that two vehicles collided on State Highway 81/92 between Q and R roads, just east of Osceola.

Nebraska’s August Unemployment Rate is 2.1 Percent

LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Labor (NDOL) announced today that Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for August 2022 is 2.1 percent, seasonally adjusted. The rate is up 0.1 percentage points from the July 2022 rate and is down 0.4 percentage points from the August 2021 rate of 2.

LINCOLN — Today, Governor Pete Ricketts held a press conference to highlight the historic amount of tax relief available to Nebraskans.  During his time in office, Gov. Ricketts has worked with the Legislature to pass $12.7 billion in total tax relief.
