Pedicure clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st Wednesday morning and 3rd Wednesday afternoon of every month. Please call the health department at 402-747-2211 to make an appointment.

High Plains Students Help Plant Trees

CLARKS — Thanks to a collaborative effort of the Nebraska Forest Service and Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, the Village of Clarks was awarded 10 Free Trees to plant in the community. The Arboretum provides the communities with trees that are already 4-8 feet in height and native to the area.

The modified 18th Annual Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center fall health fair was held on Tuesday, October 4th.

CVA Donates to Bandstand

Central Valley Ag (CVA) recently made a donation to the Polk Bandstand renovation project. The donation total is up to $31,500, but more are still needed.

Candidate Forum Next Tuesday

A candidate forum is being held Tuesday, October 11th at 7 p.m. at the Viking Center in Stromsburg. Scheduled to appear and featured are Legislative District 24 candidates Dr. Patrick Hotovy of York and Jana Hughes of Seward.
