Polk Celebrates 4th of July

Polk was the place to be Friday night for the July 1 Celebration. Food, fun and fireworks were on the menu as the village celebrated Independence.

The Polk Public Library is planning a mystery/riddle party for ages 4 to 12 years of age on Wednesday, July 20th from 1:00 to 2:30 at the Polk Library. Come and solve the mysteries and riddles and enjoy a snack with us!! Please RSVP to 402-363-7035 before July 15th so I know how many to plan on.

Familiar Face at Polk Library

POLK — There is a familiar face in the stacks at the library. Becky Carlstrom recently became the librarian at the Polk Library. While new in the position, she is no stranger to residents of Polk. Carlstrom has worked as a special needs paraprofessional for High Plains Schools for nearly 35 years.

Schools Out for Summer, But Staffs Remain Busy

School may be out for the summer, but there still is plenty of action taking place at schools all across the nation and Polk County is no different. From school maintenance to summer camps, meals or teachers working to improve ahead of the next school year, schools are staying busy.
