Polk County falls to Yutan/Mead 8-0 in opening round
HASTINGS — Every game is now an elimination game.
Polk County (25-11) lost 8-0 in 6 innings to the No. 2 seed Yutan/Mead (31-1) on Wednesday in the opening round of the Class C State Tournament. Now the Slammers will have to win six games in row if they want to win a State Title.
Yutan/Mead had not lost since Aug. 27 and have now won 24 games in a row.
