Slammers Split with Blue River and York

STROMSBURG — The Polk County Slammers had to settle for a split on Thursday.The Slammers defeated Blue River 4-3 and lost to York 10-0.Polk County overcame 5 errors on defense. Adrienne Waller went the distance for the Slammers, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits.

Cougars Play Hard, Come Up Short Against Cardinals

DONIPHAN – The Cougars traveled to Doniphan for a road game. The game was close, but the Cougars fought hard and came up short, 28-24.The Cardinals got the ball first, and ended up punting. The Cougars took the ball a few yards, but couldn’t convert.

Storm Win Big Over Knights

WACO – The Storm blew over to Waco for a meeting with the Knights. It was a Storm victory 70-20.The Knights got the ball first, but the Storm took over on downs. After a holding penalty, the Storm got a touchdown by a 13-yard Haden Helgoth run after Gage Friesen ran it five yards.
