SHELBY- Shelby-Rising City head coach Zach Kubik and his staff could not have scripted a better start than the Huskies had Friday night in the second round of the Class D1 State Playoffs against the Bloomfield Bees.

SHELBY – Shelby-Rising City’s 44-22 first-round win over Boyd County was just what head coach Zach Kubik ordered – the Huskies (9-0) scoring the first 44 points of the contest with a dominating defense holding the visiting Spartans to just 32 yards and two first downs in the first half.

CENTURA- In their final 11man football game for the foreseeable future, the Cross County Cougars made a second half run at the Centura Centurions, but could not wipe out the 14-0 halftime deficit and finished 2-7 with the 21-13 loss.

LAWRENCE- Over a span of 15 seconds in the second quarter, the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders turned a 16-0 battle in the opening round of the Class D-1 State Playoffs into a 30-0 run away, which eventually the Raiders pulled away from the Osceola Bulldogs for the 59-14 win.
