Three Storm Wrestlers Place at Home Meet

COLUMBUS - High Plains hosted their wrestling invitational over the weekend with 24 teams participating in the boys’ competition. The Norm Manstedt Invite was held at Central Community College in Columbus. The host team placed 12th with 66 points, the second highest for Class D.

Cougars Add Two Solid Wins

STROMSBURG – Langdon Arbuck of Cross County’s boys basketball team had previously been a student at Heartland High and Saturday’s contest between the two squads might’ve had some rancor if the game had gotten tight.

Cross County Solidifies Win In Spite of Gustafson’s Solid Performance

STROMSBURG – Cross County and Osceola have asserted themselves as state-ranked teams in Class C and D divisions and if Tuesday’s Crossroads Conference matchup between the Cougars and Bulldogs was an indicator, both squads acquitted themselves as such.

Cross County Girls Add Win Over Osceola

STROMSBURG — It was a near capacity crowd of 600 people who came to watch the county rivalry of Osceola against Cross County. Undefeated and second ranked Lady Cougars took the early lead over the Lady Bulldogs and never looked back. The Lady Cougars remain undefeated with a 64-32 win.

Cougar Boys’ Hopes for Holiday Crown End

Anderson Leads Lady Cougars Toward Holiday Championship

STROMSBURG – It was a typical Shyanne Anderson night, 13 points, five assists, three steals, six of seven foul shooting and a three-point basket during Cross County’s 55-37 home victory over Wood River Thursday in the team’s opening game of the Runza Holiday Christmas Tournament.

Cougar Boys’ Hopes for Holiday Crown End

STROMSBURG – Cross County’s hopes of winning the Runza Holiday Christmas Tournament ended on Day 1 of the event, as the Cougars fell to 5-3 with a hardfought 51-50 loss to visiting Wood River last Thursday night.

Free Throws Help Lady Cougars Top Rankings

The number one Cross County Cougars didn’t get there on free throws alone, but they sure help your game. For Class C2, they sit atop a couple different rankings, including the NSAA wildcard list. In other lists, they are number three.
