Cougars Win D1-3 Final, Head to Districts

STROMSBURG - It’s not about the stats said Sydney Hengelfelt as she led her team to victory and a district final on Saturday. Cross County pulled out the win in 4 sets: 25-7, 23-25, 26-24 and 25-18.Hengelfelt led with 29 kills, and teammate Ava Pruter followed with 19.

COUGARS CRC CHAMPS; HUSKIES SECOND

YORK - These teams met on September 4th in Shelby and the Huskies came out triumphant. This time it was for the conference championship. Both teams played very hard. The rallies were long.

CRC Championship Game

YORK – Sydney Hengelfelt led with 27 kills, and Cross County avenged a loss to Shelby-Rising City earlier in the season by edging the Huskies 25-20, 2325, 28-26, 25-18 to win the CRC tourney title game at the York Auditorium Tuesday night.

Cougars Reverse Sweep Shelton Bulldogs

STROMSBURG- The Shelton Bulldogs came into Cross County on Tuesday night riding an 18-match win streak.The Bulldogs only losses were to 19-4 Nebraska Christian, 24-2 Overton and 21-5 Ansley-Litchfield.Shelton actually had avenged the loss to Overton during the 18-game win streak.

Crusaders Roll in District Battle with Cross County

Two plays into last Friday’s contest against Grand Island Central Catholic, Cross County fumbled away an option play and the Crusaders scored their first touchdown the initial time they had the ball.

Cougars sweep Titans

Cougars sweep Titans, Longhorns GENOA — The Cougars picked up a pair of wins from Crossroads Conference opponents on Thursday.Cross County defeated Dorchester, 25-23, 25-15, and Twin River, 25-14, 25-20. Twin River defeated Dorchester, 25-14, 25-17, in the night’s other matchup.

Cougars Beat Tigers with 55 Kills from Pruter/Hengelfelt

STROMSBURG - Tuesday night was pink out night, and before the varsity Cougars hit the floor, they recognized someone they knew who had fought cancer. Later baskets were raffled off and donations given to Annie Jeffrey Health Center for cancer.
