One of the best things about living in Nebraska in the summer is visiting the county fairs. There are so many wonderful things to see and do, and so many delicious foods to smell and taste. The experiences are endless and often provide happy memories for years to come.

Gov. Ricketts Highlights New 988 Phone Number for Suicide Prevention Lifeline

LINCOLN – This morning, Governor Pete Ricketts hosted a press conference at the State Capitol to raise awareness of the new 988 phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

TEN YEARS AGO July 12, 2012 Tom and Judi Luettel attended the Petersburg Q125 parade on Sunday. While there they enjoyed visiting with family and friends. On Saturday. Art and Shirley Richter and Tom and Judi Luettel enjoyed the lawn mower races at the Benedict Q125 celebration.

Watch Out For West Nile Virus

West Nile Virus is the leading disease carried by mosquitos in the continental United States. It is spread through the bite of a mosquito that has picked up the virus by feeding on an infected bird. In turn, the mosquito can pass the virus to humans.

TEN YEARS AGO July 5, 2012 The ultimate achievement for the Gresham Blackbirds 14 & under team in the Big 10 League Tournament was defeating the undefeated Clarks Storm, during tournament play. They earned second place.
