Meeting Students’ Needs

Lisa Shoup of Stromsburg has been taking in school supplies through donations and purchases for six years, then she redistributes them to anyone who needs them. She started seeing this need in the community and surrounding area, and felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to address this need.

Gerry and Pam George received the Heritage Farm Award for 150 years of land ownership by the same family on Friday evening at the York County Fair. Gerry and Pam are the fifth generation of the Liedtke family to own this quarter of ground located five miles west and one mile north of Gresham.

TEN YEARS AGO August 9, 2012 Three girls were selected from Gresham’s Blackbird softball team for the SLS All-Star game. The girls selected were Lindsey Gottula as pitcher/third baseman, Krayton Conell as catcher and Molly Rafert as first basemen.

The deadline has come and gone for incumbents seeking to run for re-election for seats on local village boards in this year’s election cycle. Incumbent candidates had to file their intentions before the end of the business day on Friday.
