High Plains Places Fourth

YORK - High Plains started the conference tournament with a game against Nebraska Lutheran, who they beat in two sets, 25-21 and 25-17.Courtney Carlstrom led in kills with 6, followed by Emma Brown with 4, with Peyton Hofmann and HallieJo Urkoski each adding 2 and Rylee Ackerson adding 1.

Storm Wins Over Deshler, Will Host Playoff

DESHLER - High Plains traveled south to Deshler to take on the Dragons. The Storm claimed a 65-12 win.The Storm scored early and often against the Dragons, up 28-0 after one quarter. The first touchdown was just 11 seconds into the game as Gage Friesen ran a 65-yard touchdown.

Lady Storm Go 1-1 in Shickley

SHICKLEY - High Plains made their way south to Shickley for a triangular against Lawrence-Nelson and 4th ranked host, BDS. High Plains got the middle and last games of the evening. The first game was BDS against Lawrence-Nelson, which BDS won in two sets with the last one 25-19.

Storm Surprises The Raiders with The Win

CLARKS – The Storm (4-2) hosted the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders (4-2) on Friday. The Storm came out with the win 47-20.The Raiders kicked off and the Storm got the ball first. Haden Helgoth and Gage Friesen took turns running the ball and got two first downs before they were called for a false start.

MERIDIAN - High Plains traveled to Meridian Tuesday for a triangular that also included Hampton.High Plains got the big win over Meridian, losing the first set 25-13 but coming back to win the next two 25-20 and 25-23.Stats: Kills: C. Carlstrom 8, E. Brown 7, R.Ackerson 6, P. Hofmann 5.

Storm Dominates Giltner to Move to 4-2

GILTNER – Gage Friesen rushed 11 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns and Haden Helgoth, Jacob Lesiak, and Kaden Rieken also ran in one score apiece as High Plains moved to 4-2 with a 61-14 win at Giltner High last Friday night.

Slammers End Season with Loss to York

YORK – During losses this season, the Polk County Slammers have made an average of three errors per game and in Class B-8 sub-district semifinal play Monday afternoon the trend continued to the team’s detriment.

Storm Plagued by Penalties in Loss to Eagles

CLARKS – Homecoming for High Plains was against the Bruning- Davenport/Shickley Eagles. Friday’s game was exciting with the Storm leading at half, but the Eagles coming back for the win, 34-20.
